Tourism marketing has changed rapidly with digitalisation. There has been a shift from brochures and traditional media to digital, multi-channel marketing. In this podcast Marketing Coordinator Daniela Brezinova from Visit Espoo shares her story of how she ended up studying international tourism at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Pori, Finland, and what led her to work with social media marketing in a destination marketing organization.
Daniela discusses generating revenue through social media by considering customers, especially younger generations. She summarizes her tips for future professionals: You need to have some passion for tourism, and if you do, it is a great field to work in. It is also important to focus on solutions instead of just pointing to the problems.
This podcast is hosted by senior lecturer Heini Korvenkangas from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences.
