This report highlights how extreme weather events, rising costs and patriarchal systems are deepening gender inequality and making it harder for women, girls and gender-diverse people to manage menstruation safely and with dignity. A couple of weeks ago, Phuong spoke to Hannah Tamata from the Pacific Menstrual Health Network to speak about this issue and the findings of their report in more detail. 7.30 am// Lana Nguyen, A Climate for ArtLana Nguyen, who alongside Eliki Reade, are co-instigators of A Climate for Art, a campaign that unifies the arts around the issue of our changing climate through divestment practices and community building. With a focus on financed emissions – banking and superannuation – ACFA is focused on collectivising their response through tangible actions, as well as growing critical climate dialogues through a community of practice. Lana joined us on the show back in 2023 when ACFA first launched and we're excited to speak with her again today about their Divestment Drop ins, in collaboration with Next Wave. 7.45 am// Emily, Resisting Nuclear Archival ExhibitionEmily is the editor of Friends of the Earth's long running mgazine, Chain Reaction, and also works on grassroots anti-nuclear campaigns. Emily joins us on the show now to talk about the final day of the Resisting Nuclear Archival Exhibition, running in Brunswick since 12th June. The exhibition traces the inspiring history of nuclear resistance on this continent and has offered a range of events, screenings and workshops since its launch last week. Tonight there will be a double magazine launch, featuring the two latest editions of Chain Reaction. 8.00 am// Anne Abbott, Koala Action TeamBetween 15 March and 15 May, more than 750 koalas were killed by helicopter marksmen in Budj Bim National Park in western Victoria. The aerial culling was not publicly announced, and various environmental and animal rights groups have raised concerns about the lack of transparency. As part of her fellowship, Skye has been conducting research into media ownership and diversity. Skye is here to chat about her recent research into the state of the current media landscape, including the lack of competition in print media, the geographical distribution of journalists across the country, with a focus on how regional and rural areas are impacted.
