Instead, they declared the jury’s awards both fair and reasonable, highlighting how Trump’s statements about Carroll, calling her a liar and denying her allegations, were made with, at the very least, reckless disregard. And this follows a separate $5 million jury award Carroll won after Trump was found liable for sexual abuse. Trump’s legal team has vowed to push that appeal to the Supreme Court, but for now, the massive judgment stands.
