Speaking of which, evacuation coverage should be at least $250,000. Remember, a medical evacuation from a remote location can easily cost $100,000 or more.

Baggage coverage is usually less critical, but make sure it's enough to cover your belongings. Most policies offer between $1,000 and $3,000, which is typically adequate for most travelers.
