Having been in the industry for over 20 years, I know my fair share of traders.
Some are still trading, either for banks, asset managers or hedge funds. And some have moved on, either retired, set up businesses or retrained to do something completely different.
Whatever they are doing now, their trading experiences have taught them a great deal about markets, themselves and even life in general. By having regular conversations with them I am also able to learn from those experiences along with them.
These guys have been my mentors, colleagues and in some case have become some of my best friends.
I value and enjoy these conversations immensely and now through this podcast you have the chance to listen and hopefully learn a bit too.

In this episode Imran Lakha, founder of Options insight, talks to Hussein Nasser, an ex-bank bond and credit trader with 20 years in the industry.
They discuss Hussein’s background in markets and all the products that he has been exposed to in his impressive career. Imran quizzes him on whether bond traders really have a better handle on the economy than stock investors and how much signal remains in markets prices after the introduction of QE and the distortions that creates in both treasuries and credit markets.
Hussein gives a quick explanation of how the repo market works and why the FED’s repo facility gets used so extensively by banks. Now that Nasser trades for himself an has left banking, they discuss how he found that transition and what type of trades he is doing now to extract value from the market.
