The Addicted Leader

In this episode we explore the concept of Workaholism in Leadership. The culture within workplaces, alongside the organisational practices of rewards and promotions, can enhance this ever-increasing problem.

With many individuals either losing their motivation for work due to the demands, or experiencing burn-out and stress, workaholism is an ever increasing phenomenon, and leaders experience it in two ways; themselves or within their teams.

In this episode we explore the theory behind addiction and how this relates to workaholism, as well as exploring the impact workaholism has on our lives both within and outside of the workplace. We look at some of the approaches we can take to mitigate workaholism, although we do acknowledge the difficulties and challenges there are in addressing this.
