CUFOS President Dr. Mark Rodeghier describes the legendary research of J. Allen Hynek and recent studies of UFO trace-cases, vehicle interference & reported abduction phenomenon.
The Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) is a non-profit organization that includes scientists, professionals, academics, investigators, and others, all volunteers, dedicated to the study and analysis of the UFO phenomenon.
CUFOS was founded in 1973 by Dr. J. Allen Hynek, who was an astronomer, professor, and scientific advisor who served as a scientific consultant for Project Blue Book. Hynek started out as a skeptic and helped the Air Force to debunk most UFO reports, but gradually became convinced that a small number of UFO cases were not hoaxes.
Dr. Mark Rodeghier is the President and Scientific Director of the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies. His work in the UFO field began with CUFOS in 1974, and he has done research and investigation across a wide variety of areas, including vehicle interference cases, physical trace events, abduction cases, the CUFOS investigation of the Roswell crash. His UFO-related publications include numerous articles for IUR and the Journal of UFO Studies, and the monograph UFO Reports Involving Vehicle Interference: A Catalog and Data Analysis (1981).
Mark works professionally as a consultant in statistical analysis and data analytics, has taught numerous workshops on a variety of statistical techniques, authored or coauthored two books on statistics and survey research, and has been principal statistician for more than 80 papers in clinical research, with a recent focus on sickle cell disease.
Mark has a BS in astrophysics from Indiana University along with Master's & PhD degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago in sociology.
