Today Trentent Tye joins us to tell the little-known tale of HP Gaming, 9 Patents, being a Citrix Technology Professional (CTP) and working for ControlUp all comes together. Trentent Tye got started in his IT career working for VoodooPC, a high-end gaming PC manufacturer. Originally starting in technical support, Trentent transitioned to System Architect and Software Delivery. Trentent left Voodoo to join the consultant world doing Active Directory support for Haworth before rejoining VoodooPC. Hewlett-Packard then acquired VoodooPC where Trentent moved to Research and Development where he worked on system design. While at HP, Trentent got 9 patents to his name and helped to launch the HP Blackbird, HP Omen, Envy 133 and Firebird line of gaming products. When the recession hit, HP shutdown the gaming division and Trentent started work as a Citrix and Active Directory consultant for Healthcare and Oil and Gas companies. Eventually, Trentent moved into government Healthcare and supported Alberta Health Services for over 6 years until he joined ControlUp as a technical marketer.
