The truth about going Keto - Will this trend be the solution to all your problems?

In this week's episode, we are re-visiting an oldie but a goodie topic - The Keto Diet. This popular diet has been mentioned numerous times on multiple diabetes accounts/groups as a go-to diet for any one who is diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. While reducing carbohydrates seem to be the obvious choice when thinking about lowering your blood sugar, it can bring you some unexpected results. 

Most people are aware of the well-known Keto Diet in regards to weight loss and reducing blood sugar. But did you know that the Keto Diet (or the Classical Ketogenic Diet) is actually designed to help prevent seizure? This high fat low carbohydrates diet forces the body to break down fat for energy instead of glucose (sugar). Since glucose is the main source of energy for your brain, the Keto Diet helps regulate the amount of sugar in the brain and in turn helps control seizure.
