The Dawn Phenomenon - Why you might be experiencing this and what to do about it

One of the most popular questions when it comes to living with Type 2 Diabetes is how to manage your morning blood sugar. This reading is usually higher for some individuals. Many people will offer you "fixes" such as ask your doctor to increase your medications doses or don't eat after 7 pm... But what you should be focusing on is WHY you're experiencing this? 

Understanding your condition will be the first step in actually living with it rather than just trying to put a bandage on it. 

What you might be seeing is what we described as the Dawn Phenomenon where your blood sugar is just a bit higher around the 'dawn' period (5 am - 8 am). Okay, that's great to know... but what can you do about it?
