5 - Paisley Fields on Iowa, Leading With Truth & Queer Country
Born in Iowa and now based in Brooklyn, Paisley Fields is apart of a generation of country artists using their platform to instigate change. Having toured with Queer country pioneers Lavender Country as well as releasing the duet "Burn The Statehouse Down" (in opposition to Tennessee's anti-Trans legislation), he is certainly walking the walk and collecting a legion of fans along the way.
On this episode of Three Tracks & The Truth, Madeleine Molly and Paisley Fields talk about writing with 'place' in mind, the importance of supporting queer artists, reflecting on The Chicks' cancellation and the truths of country music.
Paisley Fields' Three Tracks:
Rufus Wainwright - Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk
Arthur Russell - Close My Eyes
The Chicks - Not Ready To Make Nice
