With all these think pieces about fake men of God, fake pastors, and false prophets, I think this is a much needed reminder: do not idolize your leaders, FACT CHECK THEM. Yes, preachers are meant to steer God’s people towards Him, but at the end of the day, they are human beings, meaning they’re not perfect. Pastors slip up too, which is why you need to water your relationship with God outside of your pastor’s preachings. Read your bible and corroborate everything related to the word in conversation with God. Your relationship with Christ should not be dependent on whatever your pastor says, because if they say or do something wrong, you don’t want to find yourself faulting God.
