Thomas Bunker's journey is a testament to the serendipitous alignment of fate. Trained in immunology by a stroke of fortune, he found himself facing a diagnosis of COVID-19. In response, Tom turned to intermittent fasting, initially with the goal of shedding some weight. Little did he know, this decision would uncover a remarkable side effect that would profoundly impact his health. #Autophagy #fasting #fastingjourney My first interview with Tom was two years ago – and you can see that podcast on my personal Youtube channel - DM me and I will send a link. Brief Bio: Tom obtained his PhD in immunology from the University of California - Davis. He was trained in basic cell biology, virology, molecular biology, and immunology. He left science after completing his Post Doctoral training to better support a growing family. When he got Long Covid early in 2020, he dove back into the scientific literature to try to figure out what was happening in his body. He was an early proponent of persistent SARS-CoV-2 infection as the root cause of most of the plethora of Long Covid symptoms. He teamed with Dr. Jeffrey Novack to launch the "Diet and Fasting for Long Covid" exploratory clinical trial in the fall of 2022. He has a front-row seat to the devastation of people's lives caused by Long Covid symptoms and has informally characterized them for both Long Covid and Long Vax. They appear to be the same condition.
