"NPR News": British Prevent Boston Residents from Leaving Town

A light-hearted history riff on the "NPR sound"

Episode Transcript:

Chevron Bowie: Live for NPR in Boston, October 28th, 1775, I’m Chevron Bowie.

CB: Early this morning British Major General Sir William Howe forbade all Boston residents from leaving the city. He has issued the proclamation in response to mounting anti-Parliament dissent within the city. We have received an anonymous tip that General George Washington, a commander in the rebel continental army, may attempt to drive His Majesties troops out of Boston as early as March 1776. To succeed Washington will need considerable firepower at his command. Likely in the form of the guns stolen from Fort Ticonderoga far to the north.

CB: This is NPR
