
When I was growing up, I thought that meditation was that yogis and sanyasis did. They all had to leave their home and renounce their material possessions and go in search for enlightenment. As I grew, I thought the purpose of it is for inner peace. We often get confused with meditation with these extremes. There could be various reasons that we choose to meditate. The other part is that meditation need not be about closing the eyes and becoming quiet or focusing on one’s breath. Meditative quality comes with immersion into whatever we’re doing.
