"In our extensive conversation today, we covered numerous aspects of Botswana's political and electoral landscape, touching on issues like public integrity, political responsibility, the role and perception of the IEC (Independent Electoral Commission), the engagement and relationship between political parties and the IEC, the importance of voter education, and the upcoming elections. We also discussed the dynamics of political party funding, the impact of corporate and foreign contributions to political campaigns, and the critical role of media in maintaining political neutrality. Furthermore, we explored the societal expectations from the electoral process, emphasizing the need for transparency, accountability, and the active participation of civil society and the general populace in fostering a fair and democratic electoral process
