In the third episode of this series, we explore all things climate with Dr Natalya Gallo. Natalya is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Bergen in Norway and an expert in deep-ocean science and climate governance. It’s wonderful to have Natalya as our guest for this episode to share her experience of working in this critical research and policy space.

If you’re keen to learn more about some of the topics discussed in this episode, check out the resources below:

  • Become a member of DOSI’s Climate Change Working Group and get involved in advancing deep-ocean science in climate policy!

  • As Natalya mentioned, you can sign up for the Earth Negotiation Bulletin newsletter here for free reports, analyses, and multimedia on global negotiations on climate change and more.

  • Register for the UNFCCC COP30 Brazil Virtual Ocean Pavilion.

  • In the episode, Natalya summarises the DOSI Policy Brief on deep-ocean knowledge gaps in the IPCC Assessment Reports - read the brief in full here.

  • Check out the Global Ocean Forum and the Ocean and Climate Platform.

Finally, if you’re a fan of the deep sea and want to dive deeper, be sure to check out The Deep-Sea Podcast for a punk take on the science with Dr Thom Linley and Professor Alan Jamieson!
