In this week’s episode of ‘Therapy-ish, we sit down Crave Counseling’s newest therapist, LPC-Associate Aliyah White. Aliyah specializes in working with adults through the modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy & dialectical behavior therapy. This episode is all about what therapists can do to care for themselves! In a field where one must give so much to others, it can be difficult to find the time and energy to pour into their own cup…
From the ethical requirement that therapists engage in self-care; to the importance of establishing and maintaining boundaries with patients, family, and friends; to the many ways a therapist can engage in self-care, Aliyah and Asha cover it all!
Therapy-ish was created with the mindset of removing the stigma around mental health and to help bridge the gap from the streets to the office. Our goal is to educate listeners on new ways to go about seeking help, becoming more aware of where we are, discuss therapy in traditional and non-traditional ways with expressing new ways to move forward in the world.
