In this week’s episode of ‘Therapy-ish, we sit down with Tameka Turner, a Licensed Professional Counselor at Kenyatta Black Counseling in Arlington, TX, who specializes in working with children living within the foster care system.

This episode is all about the complex nature of CPS & foster care. From the resources available to parents who have had their kids taken away, to the trauma of existing as a child within the system, to the unique challenges for children of color in foster care,  Asha and Tameka cover so much in this episode!

Therapy-ish was created with the mindset of removing the stigma around mental health and to help bridge the gap from the streets to the office. Our goal is to educate listeners on new ways to go about seeking help, becoming more aware of where we are, discuss therapy in traditional and non-traditional ways with expressing new ways to move forward in the world.
