Faith & Sexuality in the Black Community - 'Therapy-ish (ft. Dr. Marlon Johnson)

In this week’s episode of ‘Therapy-ish, we sit down with Dr. Marlon Johnson, a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing at Johnson Counseling & Consulting in Austin, TX, who specializes in working within the context of culturally-inclusive therapy for those facing mental health, spiritual, career, and identity issues.

This episode is all about the experience of faith and sexuality, and how those two concepts are intertwined, within the Black community.. Asha and Marlon talk everything from the lived experience of growing up in a Black body,  the unfortunate and all-too-common experiences of queer individuals who grow up in traditional Black families, and the importance of sexual education and how it should be delivered to young people.
