This is our 29th episode released this year - and we saved the festive episode 🎅🏻for Mr Fergal Monsell, Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Limb Reconstruction Surgeon from Bristol Childrens Hospital. In this episode, we talk all about his career path, from medical school, training & fellowships, to his appointment at Great Ormond Street/RNOH before his move to Bristol. We talk about the ABC fellowship, how he has developed a subspecialty practice, and his current role as a senior faculty member. We talk about his research inc a PhD, and most importantly his pivotal role in Education within orthopaedics - from the Educational Chair of BSCOS, developing BOAST guidance, to novel virtual teaching for medical students and trainees. Finally, we talk about the Childrens Surgical Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and how we got involved and continues to support this amazing institution. OF course, we talk about how he winds down, work-life balance and his love of Art, Spurs and Space!!!
