In this episode, recorded in Jan 2020, I sat with Dr Chris Turner, co-founder and champion of the Civility Saves Lives campaign & Emergency medicine physician. We discuss the impact of incivility, mild rudeness and poor teamwork environments on individual staff, high-functioning teams and ultimately on patients outcomes. This discussion addresses multiple topics stemmed in human factor research, and we discuss the practicalities in addressing situations in the workplace and maintaining the idea of #HammerItOut & #CutItOut.
