In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Maja Whitaker from Laidlaw College to discuss her newest book, Perfect in Weakness. In this conversation, we discuss Maja's proposition that people with disabilities might retain their diverse embodiment in the new creation ― that the resurrected body might still be "disabled." In addition to that, we talk about what heaven is ACTUALLY like, what it means to be an embodied human, ableism, identity, new creation, marriage in heaven and more! Additionally, Maja helps us to answer the question, "Will I know my family members and loved ones in heaven?"
Dr. Maja Whitaker is a Lecturer in Practical Theology at Laidlaw College in New Zealand. Her research interests include embodiment and body theology, pastoral theology, spiritual formation and disability theology. She has recently completed her PhD through the Department of Theology & Religion, University of Otago.
