**Theology done well for young people** My name is Nathan LaValley. I've been noticing a youth crisis in my city... I suspect it spans across America. Youth often make their decisions about who God is and what he says/thinks based on feelings. We need to equip young people to make this decision from solid footing. From scripture and logic. When an entire belief system is built on what “feels“ right it’s like building a castle on a trampoline. This project is all about the pursuit of genuine truth. Join in as we build an entire youth systematic theology from the ground up!

Three Issues to Test Your View of Scripture (Unwholesome Talk, Pre-Marital Sex, Abortion) and Mormonism

Take a look at three major issues facing youth today: Unwholesome speech, pre-marital sex and abortion. Is your view of scripture robust enough that when the pressure rises, you will stand strong in your convictions. Find out in this episode of theology for teens.

rom 12.2

2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

1 jn 4.11 jn 4.21 jn 4.3

4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and which is already in the world at this time.

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20 So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.

2 co 11.42 co 11.52 co 11.62 co 11.72 co 11.82 co 11.92 co 11.102 co 11.112 co 11.122 co 11.132 co 11.142 co 11.15

4 For if someone comes and proclaims a Jesus other than the One we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the One you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it way too easily.

5 I consider myself in no way inferior to those “super-apostles.”

6 Although I am not a polished speaker, I am certainly not lacking in knowledge. We have made this clear to you in every way possible.

7 Was it a sin for me to humble myself in order to exalt you, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?

8 I robbed other churches by accepting their support in order to serve you.

9 And when I was with you and in need, I was not a burden to anyone; for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my needs. I have refrained from being a burden to you in any way, and I will continue to do so.

10 As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be silenced in the regions of Achaia.

11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

12 But I will keep on doing what I am doing, in order to undercut those who want an opportunity to be regarded as our equals in the things of which they boast.

13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.

14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their actions.

ARGUMENT FROM THIS EPISODE

1. [[If God communicates something to me personally, I will be able to reliably discern it.]]

2. [[If I reliably discern personal communication from God, then I must obey that personal communication from God]]

3. [[If I must obey something that is in conflict with my understanding of what the Christian Scriptures teach, then I must either live in cognitive dissonance, reevaluate my understanding of scripture in light of the conflict or redefine the boundaries and depth of Biblical inspiration]]

4. [[God communicates something to me personally that is in conflict with my understanding of what the Christian Scriptures teach]]

5. [[I must obey the teaching that is in conflict with my understanding of what the Christian Scriptures teach]]

6. [[I must either live in cognitive dissonance, reevaluate my understanding of scripture in light of the conflict or redefine the boundaries and depth of Biblical inspiration]]
