Yale Campus Update: Library Events, Arts & Culture, Sports Highlights, and Weather for October 13–20
Hey Handsome Dan, it's Jenny with your Campus Update for October 13 through October 20. Let's get you set for the week—fast. First up—the Beinecke Library is hosting a Friday Introductory Tour on October 17 at 1:30 p.m. It's a great chance to explore one of Yale's architectural gems. Next—on October 16 at 7:00 p.m., the library presents "Caricatures, Campagna, and Connoisseurs: Thomas Patch and the British Grand Tour in Eighteenth-Century Italy." Art enthusiasts, mark your calendars. And—the Yale Library is celebrating Dictionary Day on October 19 at 1:00 p.m. If you're a word nerd, this one's for you. Over the weekend, our women's soccer team faced off against Harvard. The game was held on October 12 at 7:00 p.m. Unfortunately, the results aren't in yet, but we'll keep you posted. Looking ahead, our field hockey team is set to play UAlbany on October 19. It's an away game, but you can catch the action via live stats and video links on yalebulldogs.com. On October 14 at 12:00 p.m., the Schwarzman Center is hosting a session titled "Future of the Arts & Culture in America: In Conversation with Bruce Cohen '83." It's a fantastic opportunity to gain insights from an industry leader. Also, the "Visions Uncharted" concert featuring Tom Chiu '93 with Cory Smythe and Meaghan Burke '06 is happening on October 16 at 7:30 p.m. Experience composers who redefine the boundaries between improvisation and composition. For foodies, the New Haven Night Market took place on October 10, but don't worry—there are more events coming up. Keep an eye on local listings for the latest food festivals and markets. This week in New Haven, expect a mix of rain and sunshine. Monday and Tuesday bring rain and wind, so pack an umbrella and be cautious of potential flooding. The rest of the week looks sunnier, with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to low 70s. Perfect for outdoor activities later in the week. Your move: Attend the "Future of the Arts & Culture in America" session on October 14. It's a unique chance to engage with Bruce Cohen and discuss the evolving landscape of arts and culture. Don't miss out! That's your quick Campus Update. I'm Jenny—catch you next Monday morning. Tap follow on your podcast app so you never miss a beat.
