But this traditional method leaves out a vital facet of performance that some of the best and most successful basketball performance coaches are looking at nowadays: Shot Load, a new athletic performance metric that takes into account statistical shooting data. Jonas notes that KINEXON's basketball analytics platform automatically generates a Shot Load map specifically, the first of its kind. This Shot Load map takes player load and shooting percentages into account to give a more holistic view of that player's performance and efficiency. Jonas also emphasizes how it can give you an idea of where shooters need to improve, and how their load might be affecting their shooting performance from anywhere on the floor, at any point in the given session. This is all done without the need for wearable tech - the software uses AI to track the players and compile the data so that no time is wasted having staff members do so manually.
