Sierra joins the podcast to share her compelling journey from a self-described "black sheep" caught in addiction, to a beacon of hope in recovery. Despite growing up knowing God, she fell into drug use at 18, leading to homelessness, abusive relationships, and trafficking. For years, she navigated cycles of sobriety attempts, rehab stints, and relapses, often rationalizing her choices even while attending church or talking about faith during periods of use. Sierra doesn't shy away from the pain inflicted on her family or the depths of her despair, including multiple incarcerations.
It was during her last prison term that Sierra experienced a profound shift, realizing the heartbreak she was causing, especially to her children. This marked the beginning of true surrender. Hear how God used that time, along with persistent prayers and the unwavering support of mentors and community, to bring about lasting transformation.
