The Women's Table, The Book Series met als gast Betty van Brunswijk over haar boek, Mam, ik kan niet meer

Mijn naam is Betty van Brunschot. Samen met mijn tweelingzus kwamen wij toen wij twee jaar oud waren naar Nederland nadat wij geadopteerd werden. In mijn boek ‘Mam, ik kan niet meer’ vertel ik over de onveilige jeugd die wij kregen, maar waar van wij gelukkig geheeld zijn. In deze nieuwe aflevering van The Women’s Table, The Book Series,  praat ik met Betty van Brunschot over haar autobiografie, Mam, ik kan niet meer. Betty werd op jonge leeftijd samen met haar tweelingzus Tizita geadopteerd uit Ethiopië. Ze vertelt openharig hoe deze adoptie veranderde in een nachtmerrie omdat zij terechtkwamen in een gezin waarin emotionele en fysieke mishandeling een dagelijkse gang van zaken was. We hebben het over het falen van Jeugdzorg en haar weg naar emotioneel herstel. Betty wil met haar boek bewustwording creëren, want kindermishandeling komt vaker voor dan wij denken. Voor eenieder die wil begrijpen wat veerkracht echt betekent en hoe belangrijk het is om je stem te laten horen, luister snel mee!
