Following a relatively simple and happy childhood, and enjoying a close connection with nature, at age 20 Sarah Barnett met her spiritual teacher for the first time. By learning to meditate, and with the encouragement of her teacher Sri Chinmoy, Sarah embarked on a life-long journey of self-transcendence and self-discovery through long-distance running. From small beginnings in running, Sarah soon progressed to running marathons, then multi-day ultramarathons, and finally the world's longest race- the 3100 mile race in NY. In 2009, she completed a run across Europe from Norway to Turkey. Over the past two years, Sarah has run/walked 20 000km solo around Australia, pushing her tent and few possessions in a running-stroller. A committed environmentalist and nature-lover, Sarah hopes to encourage others through her experiences of simple-living, and spiritual growth through meditation and running. Welcome to a new episode of The Women's Table.
