Episode 23 - 1994, An Examination - Ken Griffey Jr & Craig Lefferts
We return to the year that changed society. 1994. June 22, 1994 to be exact. Ahead of a ballgame where the Mariners and Ken Griffey Jr head to Anaheim to take on a newly-Disney acquired Angels club, we examine the career of perhaps the best to ever play the game: George Kenneth Griffey Jr.
Our kisser this week is no slouch either, as Craig Lindsay Lefferts gets his due as we examine the life of a career-long reliever with a chip on his shoulder, JACK.
Junior tests the limits of his supportive cup, doesn't do well in traffic, loves the Haunted Mansion, and certainly never ever used PED's. Meanwhile, Craig loses his smile, and eventually ends up teaching future superstars their craft.
Rick Reuschel, Charlie Hough, and Harry Caray help us launch our Patreon, which you can find a link to below, Bo Jackson comes to brunch, and we find out that Tony Gwynn is Snagglepuss. Heavens to Murgatroid, it's all this week on The Whole Ballgame.
