This podcast is about Yoga as it is practiced and taught in the West. Rev. Christopher Sartain, an ordained teacher in the Kriya Yoga tradition and director of Vinyasa Yoga Chile, discusses Yoga philosophy and practices from a Westerner's point of view. Other topics include the history of Western Yoga, the value of the evolution of Yoga in the Western world, the similarities between Western Mystical traditions and Yoga, and practical advice for Westerners who practice Yoga and meditation. We acknowledge the great Yoga tradition from India brought here by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 and use the Indian Yoga teachings as our spiritual foundation, but the focus of this podcast is how Yoga and Meditation are developing and evolving in the Americas and Europe.
