How did the Koreans resist the American invasion in 1871?

In this episode of The Weirdest Parts of History, Kevin Trinh explores the US expedition to Korea and the kingdom of Joseon. He discusses what Joseon is and their policy regarding foreigners. Also, Kevin discusses the man who shakes the situation up and how the Koreans resisted Americans. Then, he tells the effects of Korean decisions on Americans and how impactful it is? However, how did the Koreans combat the Americans?
