
Peace has been a constant longing in the history of Colombia. From the first shoots
of the armed conflict to date, efforts to achieve reconciliation have
deeply marked the country's politics and society. The concept of "total peace" is not
only an end, but a promise of radical transformation in economic structures,
social and political that have perpetuated the conflict. This work aims to analyze
the evolution of this concept, particularly in the framework of political developments and
social of recent years, highlighting the policies of the government of Gustavo Petro, who
assumed power in 2022 with the promise of promoting a peace that encompasses all
sectors of society.
"Total peace" is not just the demobilization of armed groups or the signing of
peace, but a comprehensive change ranging from social justice to development
sustainable economic, through political inclusion and historical reparation of
victims. In this introduction, the armed conflict is briefly contextualized
Colombian, previous peace efforts, and the concept of "total peace" is presented as
the starting point of this work.
