Vox Populorum is a blog and podcast devoted to pop culture criticism. We believe that the best way to understand culture is to discuss it. But we also believe that it's a lot more fun to have these conversations throwing back a couple beers at the bar rather than in a classroom. Please join our weekly round table of media critics, academics, creators, artists, professors, students and fans for an engaging discussion about movies, novels, comic books, television, video games, music or whatever else we happen to think of!

e379. and now… Superman

Let’s face it, if you listen to our show there’ basically no way that you didn’t know that there was a Superman movie that came out this weekend. In fact, we’d argue that if you listen to ANY pop culture podcast, you know that there’s a Superman movie that came out this weekend. And quite frankly the governing rules of … reality… say that we have to talk about it. But, we promise that of all the Superman related podcasts that you are likely to listen to this week, this is probably the only one that is going to start with a proposal. And if we’re wrong… well, we certainly want to know about it. So on this episode, Wayne and Mav welcome back, returning guest, and new engaged non-bachelor, Marcel Walker to talk about the cultural significance of Superman as a character in general and review the new film in specific. From this movie to the Snyder Cut to Smallville and all the way back to the old TV show… we cover A LOT!!! And also Marcel’s engagement. So give it a listen and let us know what you think in the comments.
