Finding your spouse God's Way with Jarrett and Sandi Ellis
In this episode of The Vision TV Show, Executive Producers and Hosts Dr. Alveda King, Destiny Yarbrough, and Day Gardner, alongside Co-Hosts Ginger Howard and Katie Holmes, welcomed Sandi and Jarrett Ellis to share their inspiring, Christ-centered love story and their unique ministry. Jarrett, Dr. Alveda King’s son, and Sandi, who was single for 17 years following a divorce, were brought together through Alveda’s prayerful matchmaking. Recognizing their shared commitment to waiting for God’s best and refusing to settle, Alveda suggested Jarrett as a guest for Sandi’s podcast. This introduction sparked a profound connection, rooted in their mutual devotion to Jesus, leading to hours-long phone conversations filled with laughter and spiritual bonding before they ever met in person, highlighting the power of divine timing in their journey.

Sandi recounted a prophetic dream from five years earlier, where she saw herself in Washington, D.C., with a handsome man she later identified as Jarrett. This dream revealed a capacity for unconditional love she hadn’t yet developed, underscoring God’s preparation for their union. Jarrett, also divorced, had surrendered his search for a spouse to God, declaring that if a wife was part of his destiny, God would provide. Their story emphasized the importance of patience and faith, contrasting sharply with secular relationship models that often prioritize physical attraction or convenience over spiritual alignment. By waiting for God’s plan, they cultivated a relationship grounded in a shared love for Christ.

Married for eight months, Sandi and Jarrett exemplified a godly partnership, often seen holding hands and supporting each other’s callings. Their ministry at asweetsavour.com focuses on essential oils inspired by biblical references, such as spikenard and hyssop, crafted to evoke the presence of Christ through the sense of smell, as referenced in 2 Corinthians 2:15, which describes believers as a “sweet savor of Christ unto God.” Jarrett’s romantic gestures, like staying up until 2 a.m. to blend oils for their first date, naming one “Esther’s Scepter” after Sandi’s suggestion, reflected their commitment to a lifestyle of worship that engages all senses, aligning their physical and spiritual lives with their faith.

Sandi shared that her biggest adjustment in marriage was softening the high boundaries she maintained as a single minister, a necessity for pouring into others while protecting her spiritual life. Jarrett’s merciful nature, inspired by his love for the Book of John, made this transition smoother, allowing her to embrace flexibility while remaining true to her calling. Their “whirlwind romance” was built on a spiritual foundation, with Jarrett emphasizing the Apostle John’s teaching that “we love because He first loved us.” This principle enabled their love to be perfected through mutual devotion to God, setting their marriage apart from worldly models that often lack this spiritual core.

The episode included a lighthearted drawing for essential oil gifts, with winners from Integrated Book Marketing and Deep Vision, symbolizing the couple’s desire to share their ministry’s blessings. Jarrett closed with a heartfelt prayer, asking God to reveal His love to singles and couples, enabling them to love others fully. The couple invited viewers to explore asweetsavour.com, reinforcing the theme that God’s vision for relationships surpasses worldly perspectives. Their story offered hope and inspiration, demonstrating that a Christ-centered marriage, likened to a threefold cord, is unbreakable when rooted in faith and divine purpose.
