Casting the Vision with Pastor LeaAnn Pendergrass
In this uplifting episode of The Vision, hosts Destiny Yarbrough, Dr. Alveda King, Day Gardner, and Katie Holmes welcome prophetic minister and pastor LeaAnn Pendergrass. Known for her bold, Spirit-led evangelism and spontaneous outreach—even in places like grocery stores and gas stations—LeaAnn shares her powerful testimony and delivers a timely prophetic word of encouragement. The discussion explores her early life, ministry journey, and the vital role of unity and collaboration among women in ministry.

LeaAnn begins by recounting her spiritual awakening. Though she was first saved at age 11 in a Methodist church, it wasn’t until decades later that she experienced a deeper transformation. During a women's retreat in Alabama, she encountered the Holy Spirit while reading the Bible late one night. Drawn by a supernatural hunger, she opened her Bible to John 15:18-19, where Jesus says, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first... I have chosen you out of the world.” In that moment, she not only heard God’s voice but began to pray in a heavenly language, signaling a life-altering infilling of the Holy Spirit. That divine encounter launched her into a consecrated life of full-time ministry.

At the time, LeaAnn owned a music store that sold secular music. After her encounter with God, she returned home, rededicated the business to Jesus, and experienced a wave of divine favor. Her products began to sell out, and customers seemed spiritually drawn to the store. Despite the success, God soon asked her to give it all up and follow Him fully. Obedient to that calling, LeaAnn transitioned into ministry, including a long-term commitment in West Virginia, followed by work in California where she helped establish a church in Hollywood and led street outreach efforts.

LeaAnn shares how the process of being set apart involved spiritual refinement rather than outward appearances. She challenges common misconceptions that associate holiness with external presentation, emphasizing that true consecration happens within the heart. Despite her outward transformation—trading long dresses and head coverings for a more modern style—her inner calling remained firmly rooted in God. She relates her journey to biblical figures like Joseph, who endured trials to be prepared for future leadership and service.

A significant aspect of LeaAnn’s ministry is her prophetic calling. She explains that she began receiving words of knowledge and prophetic insight during worship and prayer, often sensing things before they happened. Mentored early on by seasoned prophetesses, she grew in her ability to share messages of encouragement and edification. She reminds viewers that prophecy is a process—it must be tested, and it often unfolds over time. Citing 2 Corinthians 1:20, she affirms that this is a season for fulfillment and restoration.

Throughout the episode, LeaAnn emphasizes the importance of spiritual boldness and taking initiative to minister in public settings. She recounts a drive-through prayer outreach where she prayed for carloads of people, often moved to tears by the presence of God. Though not everyone responded, she highlights that love never fails and that God uses willing vessels in unexpected places. For those who fear sharing their faith, LeaAnn encourages asking the Lord for holy boldness and trusting Him to open hearts.

The conversation transitions into the significance of collaboration, especially among women leaders. The hosts and LeaAnn affirm the strength of unified, Spirit-led partnerships that value diversity in personality and gifting. They highlight how each person’s unique anointing is essential to the greater mission, likening their collective work to a bouquet of flowers—distinct yet harmonious. Their shared vision is to uplift, serve, and lead as forerunners in ministry, without competition or comparison.
