As SNAP Benefits will not be available Saturday due to the government shutdown, Tom Susman has a pair of conversations with representatives of local food banks to gauge the impact and what food banks are doing to prepare for increased demand. Tom talks with Cyndi Kirkhardt of the Facing Hunger Food Bank about what they're doing to help in Mason County and with Kathy Garrett who volunteers with the No Hunger Food Bank in Ravenswood.
*Note: Interviews were recorded prior to Governor Patrick Morrisey's announcement of an additional $2.5 million for the state's food bank and two federal judges ruling that the Trump administration must distribute contengency money for SNAP as soon as possible.
