In October 2016, when the war started in the North West and South West, I had children in Bamenda. One was in polytechnic school. It was his first year in the school. I paid for everything: his study fees, the rent for his student room... When the war started, soon after the schools closed. I thought it was a temporary stop; I thought my children would go back to school afterwards. I thought the problem would be solved. I lost everything: the expenses for my children's education, the rent that I couldn't get paid back...
In 2017, I went to get them in the South West and they live here with me.
All I want is for peace to return to these areas. It is very difficult because this war has been going on for five years already. I pray to the Lord to touch the heart of the leader of our country so that he will stop this war because we English-speaking people are suffering a lot.

En octobre 2016, quand la guerre a commencé dans le Nord-ouest et le Sud-ouest, j'avais des enfants à Bamenda. L'un était à l'école polytechnique. C'était sa première année dans cette école. J’ai tout payé : ses frais d’étude, le loyer de sa chambre d’étudiant… Quand la guerre a commencé, peu de temps après les écoles ont fermé. Je me suis dit que c’était un arrêt temporaire ; je croyais que mes enfants reprendraient l’école après. Je croyais que le problème allait être résolu. J’ai tout perdu : les frais engagés pour les études de mes enfants, le loyer que je n’ai pas pu me faire rembourser...
En 2017, je suis allée les chercher au Sud-ouest et ils vivent ici avec moi.
Tout ce que je souhaite est le retour de la paix dans ces contrées. C’est très difficile car ça fait déjà cinq ans que cette guerre dure. Je prie le Seigneur pour qu’il touche le cœur du dirigeant de notre pays afin qu’il fasse cesser cette guerre car nous les anglophones nous souffrons beaucoup.
