S6E4: COVID-19 outside NCR - The Experience of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Part 2

The Urbanismo Podcast Series 6: COVID-19 and the margins. This 5-part series focuses on sectors that are perceptibly absent in mainstream discussions on the COVID-19 response. In an effort to the decenter the conversation from the capital and listen to the experiences from the regions outside Manila, episodes 3 and 4 focus on the experiences of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Episode 4 focuses on the plight of internally-displaced persons or IDPs, who are among the most vulnerable and marginalized during the COVID-19 pandemic. MP Zia Alonto Adiong, Ms. Asrifah Mamutuk, and Ms. Fatima ‘Shalom’ Pir Allian talk about the needs of displaced communities in the Bangsamoro. What can the national government and other sectors do to help Bangsamoro displaced communities overcome these challenges? This episode was produced by UrbanisMO.ph and Young Public Servants with support from Freidrich-Ebart-Stiftung Philippines, International Center for Innovation, Transformation, and Excellence in Governance (INCITEGov), and the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism. Recorded on 29-31 May 2020.
