Why The Mr. Beast Genre Feels Boring

Mr. Beast’s influence on different kinds of content on social media is apparent, but there is mounting criticism of this type of content being soulless, sanitized, boring, and stale. Videos such as “The Mr. Beastificiation of YouTube” and “Money killed YouTube, Here’s how we fix it” aptly describes this sentiment. Regardless, Mr. Beast’s view count and even the view count of his alleged copycats seem to counter this argument entirely. So called “boring content” doesn't get millions of views. So today, we explore if this critique holds any grounds or if it actually comes from a community of jealous YouTubers unable to compete in today’s money centric, social media landscape.
