
I thought tracking was the answer.
If I could just hit the numbers, I’d finally be “in control.”
But here’s the thing no one tells you:
Tracking isn’t bad in itself — but how you use it matters.
For me, it became an escape. A way to avoid emotions, numb discomfort, and feel “safe.”
And when tracking stopped working?
I replaced it with binge eating.
Because the problem was never the food or the numbers — it was what I was avoiding beneath them.
