The Traveller's Diary: My Unlikely Bond with Street Dogs

This episode might not be for everyone, but for me, it's incredibly special. Growing up, I had a deep fear of animals, big or small – even fish! But life had a surprising turn in store for me in a quiet town where my parents live, accompanied by two street dogs: Dommy and Dobby.

We were all a bit scared of dogs, but their affection for us knew no bounds. They'd race ahead of our bike or escort us all the way to their territory, sometimes even getting into "gang wars" defending us. We'd give them food, and these innocent souls, Dobby the mischievous one and Dommy the gentle, would often get into scrapes. Tragedy struck when Dommy fell ill and passed away, leaving Dobby and us heartbroken.

But today, Dobby is our darling. This incredibly intelligent dog is our shadow, our protector, and our welcoming committee. He clears the road for us, chasing away everything from cows to tiny frogs, all out of love. Yet, his protective nature is often misunderstood, leading to him being chased and even beaten. It breaks my heart to see him hurt.

This isn't just Dobby's story; it's a call to look around you. How many unappreciated, loyal souls are waiting for a little kindness? A single biscuit can bring immense gratitude. Let's remember, this world belongs to all living beings, not just us.
