Despite that, this is a desperate Cruz Azul side, who need to deliver a trophy to their fans after dealing with multiple heartbreaking losses to their rivals in the Liga MX playoffs in 2024-2025.

That desperation could help them, but it can also be a disadvantage - it might be up to the Whitecaps to ensure it's more of the latter than the former.
