Episode 4 is all about religion, sexuality, and queerness as I am joined by Reverend Jarel Robinson-Brown - my friend and openly queer priest in London. He is also the author of the incredibly written ‘Black, Gay, British, Christian, Queer’ which is available to purchase now.
We discuss religion and queerness - and the complexities and confusion of their overlapping. The church has a long history persecuting the LGBTQ+ community - so how can one be both religious and queer? Is God love?
Jarel was also the target of a right-wing social media pile-on during the COVID-19 which spilled into the mainstream media press. We discuss how he handled the intense pressure of this period.
