Jerome Bourgois is an International C-suite business leader with almost 2 decades in fashion. Jerome spearheaded the rapid expansion of CACHE-CACHE, building a 500-location retail network in China in less than five years. He successfully turned around a €150M annual sales luxury footwear retailer. In another case, he revived a €60M luxury menswear brand. Most recently, Jerome cofounded a luxury shoe manufacturing and distribution group in France aiming at rescuing highly distressed assets. The group had 300 employees, two factories, and three brands.
Safe to say, it’s hard to beat Jerome’s expertise and experience in operational and financial restructuring; and turning around companies. We had an insightful conversation in Paris, diving into brand strategy, manufacturing, and, of course, the art of turnaround.

Our guest in this episode is Kiwi entrepreneur Guy Horrocks. He shares with us his many insights from working with brands like Sephora, HBO, Dreamworks, CNN and Expedia. If that seems impressive, Guy started the first iPhone app company in the world.
Guy is also the co-founder of a data company called Solve which came into the picture to help ecommerce companies unify their data so that they can get better insights to make smarter decisions. We discuss the different approaches to data collection, and how using third-party data collecting services may not be as convenient as once thought to be. Data is collected so that companies can use it to acquire high value customers as cheaply as possible, so we touch on how companies can do that with the data they already have.

We discuss Customer Experience Research with the Head of Customer Experience Research at Zappos - Alex Genov - in this episode of The StrutFit Show. Having been acquired by Amazon for US$1.2 billion in 2009, Zappos have built their empire by putting their customers first and focusing on creating great experiences for them.
Alex comes from an Academic Psychology background with a degree in Experimental Social Psychology. He helps the organization understand their customers as people on a deeper level through a multitude of methods including interviews, surveys and usability research. Alex believes that to successfully conduct customer research, you must carry the mindset that customers are not just numbers or ‘clicks’, and understand them as actual people. He emphasizes the importance of getting insights from qualitative data and then quantifying them, rather than just looking for statistics in a pool of potential insights. This episode discusses how attainable quality customer experience research can be, whether you’re a large corporation or a small company.

In this episode of The StrutFit Show, we chat with Filippo Lovotti, the Head of User Experience from Zappos and delve into the world of User Experience and Customer Service. Zappos was the first online shoe retailer in America. In 2009, they were acquired by Amazon for US$1.2 billion, and since then they’ve gone from strength to strength. They attribute their success to their belief that they are a service company that happens to sell footwear.
Filippo has spent 16 years in the industry and shares with us some of his advice and insights about the field. As the Head of User Experience in the Customer Service Technology team at Zappos, Filippo creates products and services that their customer service agents get to use when solving problems. He tells us more about the pioneering online shoe retailer and discusses the importance of user experience, as well as how that is reaffirmed at a large scale. Being a UI/UX mentor as well as a podcaster himself, Fillipo is great at providing valuable information with an interesting spin.
