The Stronger You Podcast
Overcoming Emotional Eating, Snacking, and Sugar Cravings
Breaking Free from Emotional Eating, Snacking, and Sugar Cravings

In this episode of The Stronger You Podcast, I’m getting real about one of the most common struggles I hear from women—snacking and sugar cravings.

I share my own personal journey of navigating emotional snacking, cutting back on processed treats, and what it really took to reset my habits and cravings. This episode is all about understanding your relationship with food, building awareness around your triggers, and creating simple, realistic strategies to take back control—without guilt or shame.

If you’ve ever felt like you can’t stop snacking, or that sugar has a grip on you, this one is for you. You’re not alone—and you’re not stuck.

In this episode, you’ll learn:
  • How to identify your personal snacking triggers and habits
  • Why cutting out sugar (even temporarily) can help reset your cravings
  • What it looks like to build a healthy, balanced relationship with food
  • Tips for pre-planning snacks, setting boundaries, and managing “trigger foods”
  • Why fat loss comes more from your nutrition choices than exercise
  • The importance of being honest with yourself and taking gradual steps that actually work for you
My Message to You: Your snacking habits don’t define you—and you’re not failing just because you crave sugar or struggle with portion control. What matters is your willingness to get honest about what’s working, what’s not, and where you can shift your habits. Start small. Be patient. And remember that this isn’t about perfection—it’s about building a relationship with food that feels strong, balanced, and sustainable.

The Stronger You Podcast
Do You Feel Stuck?
You Are Not Stuck—How Changing Your Story Changes Everything

In this episode of The Stronger You Podcast, I’m opening up about my personal journey from feeling completely stuck in an unhealthy lifestyle to becoming someone who prioritizes strength, movement, and self-worth.

There was a time in my life when I didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror. I was tired, unhappy, irritable, and stuck in a story that told me I wasn’t someone who worked out, ate well, or took care of herself. It took hitting a breaking point—and deciding to fully commit to change—for everything to shift.

I share with you what it really looked like to begin changing my identity from someone who didn’t believe she could change, to someone who now feels confident, strong, and in control of her health and happiness.

In this episode, you’ll learn:
  • How I went from feeling stuck in my story to creating a new identity rooted in strength and self-respect
  • Why eliminating sugar was the first step in completely changing my habits and energy
  • The difference between being “interested” in change and being truly committed
  • Why you don’t need to do it perfectly—you just need to keep showing up
  • The importance of investing in support instead of trying to figure it all out on your own
  • How changing your mindset will change your life—and how to start
My Message to You:

You are not stuck. No matter where you’re starting from, you have the power to rewrite your story. Change is possible when you shift the way you think, show up, and speak to yourself. It won’t happen overnight—but it will happen if you stay consistent, give yourself grace, and stay committed to becoming the strongest version of YOU.

Why You Should Listen to My Podcast
Hey, I’m Jess Gunn the owner of Gunning 4 Fitness, and if you’re here, you’re probably wondering... who is this woman, and why should I listen?

I totally get it. If I’m going to be in your ears each week, you should know a little about me, my journey, and why I started The Stronger You Podcast.

In this episode, I’m sharing my story... from being a stay-at-home mom of four, constantly tired, irritable, and unhappy with my body, to becoming a strong, confident woman who finally stopped chasing the number on the scale and started focusing on feeling better, moving better, and getting stronger.

But here’s the thing... I wasn’t always “fit.” In fact, I was the weakest, wimpiest woman alive. I had zero athletic background, no experience with strength training, and no clue where to start. I thought lifting weights was for other people. But one moment in the gym changed everything for me... and now, years later, I help women just like you shift their mindset, build strength, and finally feel their best.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

My personal health and fitness journey (it’s not what you think!)
The moment that made me realize I had to change
Why I stopped obsessing over the scale and started focusing on strength and energy
How lifting weights transformed not just my body, but my entire life
My mission to help women stop the endless dieting cycle and start feeling strong and confident

If you’ve ever felt like you’re too busy, tired, or far behind to start, I promise... you're NOT alone. And you're NOT stuck.

This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait for us to grow stronger together.
