In this episode, Dr Mark Cox is joined by medical student, Tash Binnie and Junior Doctor, Stephanie Slater to discuss how medicine has played a role in their own mental health struggles. During this highly personal episode, Tash and Steph explain how they felt when opening up online about their mental health battles and discuss the potential stigma that still surrounds the issue. Mark and his guests examine the high rates of suicide and mental health issues evidenced within healthcare professionals, in particular doctors, and why this might be the case. Furthermore, Tash and Steph give great advice to anyone who is worried about opening up and have tonnes of pointers on steps we can take to ensure we protect our own mental health.
