Publishers and studios strategise around time - release dates and promotional periods will make or break the success of a project. Sometimes this is down to strategy, and sometimes it's pure luck. Not only are you trying to predict the actions of your competitors and market trends, but you also have to anticipate the mood of the audience and the state of the world at large, which is a seemingly impossible task.
