Letting the Text Speak

In Made Alive, Pastor Floyd Foster takes us inside Ephesians 2:1–10 — showing how the very grammar of Scripture reveals the miracle of grace. Through the literal, grammatical, and historical approach, we discover that God didn’t improve us; He resurrected us.
This study traces the movement of the gospel through Paul’s syntax:

You were dead → But God → Made Alive → Raised → Seated → For His Glory.

From the depth of sin to the height of grace, this teaching reminds us that salvation is not assistance — it’s resurrection.

Our Help

Many today say, “God doesn’t seem present when I need Him.” It’s not because He isn’t — it’s because we’re often looking only for an escape. We want the lions removed, the fire extinguished, the prison doors opened, the stormstilled. But Psalm 46:1 declares that God Himself is the help — not just the way out, but the One who is with us in the trouble.

Acts 2:23,36-27

From Indicted to Invited | Acts 2:23, 36

What if the greatest crime in history — crucifying God in the flesh — became the very doorway into salvation? In this message we follow Peter’s Pentecost sermon and discover that the words “you crucified Him” extend beyond the first-century crowd to every one of us. Our sins demanded the cross, and true repentance means more than regret over yesterday’s failures — it is deep sorrow over our complicity in Christ’s death.

Yet the wonder of the gospel is this: the indicted are also the invited. Those guilty of the cross are invited into forgiveness, adoption, holiness, and eternal joy with Christ. This is the invitation that compels us to obey Him with gratitude and to live as His own.

The Real Perpetrators

Who Really Crucified Christ?
This message confronts us with the sobering truth that our sins placed Jesus on the cross. Through Acts 2, Isaiah 53, Romans 5, and Hebrews 6, we see that every thought, word, and action of rebellion is a hammer strike that nailed Him there. Communion reminds us of our guilt, Christ’s provision, and our future hope. The call is clear: until we confess, “I crucified Him,” we cannot confess Him as Savior.

Saved to Proclaim

What does it mean to have a mind stayed on Christ? It means living out the Great Commission in every circumstance of life. In this teaching, Pastor Floyd Foster walks through the five Great Commission texts (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts) and shows how together they give us the full picture of the gospel mission. From the Seven C’s of biblical history to the grammar of Jesus’ commands, from Paul’s example to our own everyday lives, this message unpacks what it means to be saved not just from sin but to proclamation, discipleship, and witness. With rich biblical exposition, Reformed insights, and practical applications, this sermon calls believers to live sent — and reminds us that one day, we will give an account before Christ at the judgment seat for how we lived His mission.

The Blessing of a Thorn

“The Thorn Is a Blessing: How Weakness Reveals Real Contentment”

By: Pastor Floyd Foster

📝 Episode Description:
What if the very thing you're praying to be removed is God's greatest gift to you?

In this powerful expositional journey through 2 Corinthians 12:7–10, we unpack Paul's surprising discovery: contentment is not found in comfort—but in grace. Through the lens of Reformed theology, this teaching dismantles the lie that spiritual maturity protects us from suffering. Instead, we learn that divine wisdom often comes paired with divine weakness to keep us dependent on grace, not giftedness.

We'll explore:

  • The difference between self-generated and Spirit-wrought contentment

  • Why God's “no” to Paul was a deeper “yes” to transformation

  • What kind of contentment you have—and how trials expose it

  • How contentment, like repentance and faith, comes in two forms

  • Why the thorn might be the most gracious thing God ever gave you

📖 Key Verse:
"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses... for when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10 NASB)

🧠 Quote to Remember:
"Contentment is not the absence of desire—it is the submission of desire to God's will." – Thomas Watson

Expectations

Anchored Expectations: Finding Contentment in a Disordered World
In a culture driven by emotional highs and constant disappointment, how do we anchor our souls in true stability? In this powerful message, Pastor Floyd Foster explores how dopamine-driven expectations—when not aligned with God’s Word—lead to discontent, inconsistency, and burnout. Drawing from the lives of Paul, Job, and even King Saul, this sermon contrasts worldly expectations with Scripture-rooted ones.

You’ll discover how biblical doctrine—not dopamine—is the foundation of lasting peace, and how reshaping your expectations around God’s promises leads to spiritual maturity, consistent discipline, and unshakable joy.

📖 Featuring deep Reformed insights, real-life illustrations, and a charismatic call to transformation, this episode will leave you both convicted and comforted.

Forgiveness:

Title: Repentance & Forgiveness: The Transformed Mind as the Christian Life
Scripture: Colossians 3:13; Ephesians 4:32

In this message, we move from the biological consequences of unforgiveness to the biblical command to forgive and repent as a way of thinking, not merely feeling.
Using a literal, grammatical, and historical approach to Colossians 3:13 and Ephesians 4:32, we explore how Spirit-empowered thinking transforms every area of life.
This sermon combines rich theological insight, Reformed teaching, ACBC counseling applications, and real-life illustrations to show that forgiveness is not weakness—it is gospel vision.

Repentance is more than regret. Forgiveness is more than emotion.
They are the lenses through which the Christian must think, live, and love.

Torrents of Truth

By: Pastor Floyd Foster

“When the Waters Rose: Judgment, Mercy, and the End of Human Reason”

Why would a loving God flood the world?
How do we reconcile divine judgment with divine mercy—especially when children and entire families perish?

In this powerful message, Pastor Floyd Foster challenges us to confront one of the most unsettling events in Scripture—the global flood—and how it shatters our assumptions about God’s goodness, human innocence, and the seriousness of sin.

We explore the difference between emotional offense and theological truth, and why saving faith begins where human intellect reaches its end.
The flood was not just about water. It was about sin, justice, redemption, and the holiness of God. And it still speaks today.

➡️ This is a sobering call to view suffering, judgment, and grace through the lens of Scripture—not sentiment.

When abundance becomes a test

Scripture:
“So He gave them what they asked for, but sent leanness into their soul.”
—Psalm 106:15 (NKJV)

Devotional Thought:
Why would a loving God give us something that might draw our hearts away from Him? It’s a question worth pausing to consider—especially when we begin to desire things like wealth, status, or comfort more than we desire Him.

If money has the power to give us a false sense of peace, if we begin to rely on it rather than God, then why would He ever give us an abundance of it? The answer lies not just in what God gives, but why He gives it.

At times, God withholds certain things out of mercy, knowing they would become a snare to our souls (Psalm 84:11). At other times, He gives us what we crave—not to reward us, but to reveal what still rules our hearts. Like the Israelites who longed for meat in the wilderness, God may give us what we ask for, but it comes with spiritual leanness if it replaces Him as our source of satisfaction.

Abundance, then, becomes a test. Will we love the Giver more than the gift? Will we worship the Provider or the provision?

God is both a generous Father and a jealous God who will not share His glory with idols (Isaiah 42:8). If we’re overwhelmed by the very things we idolize, it may be grace—not punishment—that withholds them. Or it may be grace that allows them to show us where repentance is needed.

Reflection Questions:

  • What in your life are you tempted to idolize—money, success, relationships, security?

  • Have you ever mistaken abundance for peace, only to realize it left you spiritually dry?

  • How is God inviting you to examine your desires in light of His holiness?

Prayer:
Father, search my heart and show me anything I’ve placed above You. Forgive me for finding peace in created things instead of the Creator. Teach me to long for Your presence more than provision. Whether You give or withhold, let it always lead me to deeper trust and dependence on You alone. Amen.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

"A Call for Families to Return to God's Design"

In this powerful expositional teaching on Ephesians 5:22–6:9, we examine God's divine blueprint for the Christian home and workplace. Paul’s instructions to husbands, wives, children, parents, and servants are not merely cultural guidelines but a Spirit-filled mandate for living under Christ’s lordship.

We confront the cultural rebellion against God's design, expose the hypocrisy within Christian homes, and call families to repent, reform, and realign with biblical authority, love, and obedience. If we criticize the world for forsaking God’s truth while our own homes are in disorder, we must first restore our own foundations before calling others to do the same.

🔹 Biblical Submission & Authority – Husbands, love sacrificially; wives, honor biblically.
🔹 Parental Responsibility – Fathers, lead with wisdom; children, obey with honor.
🔹 Workplace Ethics – Serve as unto Christ; lead with justice.
🔹 Cultural Contrasts – How ancient Roman structures relate to today’s broken homes.
🔹 A Call to Repentance – We must return to God’s order before we call the world to do the same.

📖 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)
