#022 - Current State of Caviteño

Chabacano Caviteño is an endangered language, spoken by fewer than 4,000 people in the Philippines.

Why is Levi learning about it?

The long-term goal of this documentary is to explore the possibility of a shared global language. But with that pursuit comes a responsibility: the risk of further marginalizing already endangered languages.

Levi’s journey into Chabacano Caviteño is a way to ground the project in respect and awareness. Before building anything new, we’re listening first—especially to the voices that might be most affected.
